Nearly a century of seaside ease
Ever since the 1930s, Hotel Riviera Strand has drawn guests to Båstad for fresh sea air and a touch of easy-going luxury. With beautiful views of the water and a team who take genuine pride in getting the details right, we create experiences that stay with you long after you’ve left.
Our building still carries the elegant Art Deco character it was born with – clean lines, balanced proportions and thoughtful little touches that give the hotel its distinct soul. Here, you’ll find warm hospitality and endless ways to rest, play, explore or simply enjoy being together.
Our Values
People first
At Hotel Riviera Strand, people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in sincere hospitality, real warmth and quality that can be felt in every detail – from the way we greet our guests to the way we work alongside one another. Our aim is to create a relaxed, friendly and genuinely inclusive atmosphere where both guests and colleagues can feel at ease, appreciated and inspired.
Our dedicated team is behind every unforgettable stay, doing that little bit extra each day to elevate your time with us. As our Hotel Manager, Marcus Bengtsson, puts it:
“Nothing beats seeing guests return year after year. It tells us we’re doing something right.”
In the kitchen, our Head Chef Magnus Samuelsson builds his menus around the seasons and the beautiful produce of the Bjäre Peninsula, bringing together the simplicity of the coast with refined culinary craft.
Our shared purpose is simple: that you feel looked after, taken care of – and more relaxed than when you arrived.
Sustainability
For us at Hotel Riviera Strand, sustainability isn’t a box-ticking must – though we’re proud to hold the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. It’s a natural extension of our care for guests, our community and our environment. We want the shoreline, the sea and the surrounding nature to be enjoyed not just today, but for generations to come.
This shapes everything we do: from the way we use energy and clean our spaces to the ingredients we choose for our menus. We focus on reducing waste, using responsible products and partnering with suppliers who share our values.
In short, we aim to run a hotel that feels good, tastes good and does good – for you and for the world around us.

Top 5 – Why families love it here
- Rooms designed with families in mind. All rooms sleep 4–6 people and include a bathroom, kitchenette, living room with sofa, cosy built-in bunk beds and a generous double bed.
- Pools children can enjoy at any time. No restricted hours – the pools and sauna are always open to younger guests.
- Food that makes kids happy. There’s always a children’s menu and soft ice cream available. We think staying in a hotel should feel magical for youngsters – and easy for grown-ups.
- Nature and the beach right outside. The shallow sandy beach is just in front of the hotel. Forest paths, coastal bike routes and walking trails start right at the doorstep.
- The convenience of everything under one roof. Parents can enjoy a moment to themselves without leaving the hotel – a drink on the balcony or a nice visit to the bar, knowing the children are safe and settled.
